Credit Card Usage Guide

Garanti Bank has prepared this as a guide to assist you in using your credit card correctly.

To get the best use of your card:

  • Please be careful that the expenditures that you make with your card do not exceed your total income.
  • Because it is difficult to keep track of and manage several cards, it is better to use 2 or 3 credit cards at most.
  • It is not recommended for you to use the cash advance functionality of a credit card in order to pay the credit card balance of another card.
  • If you find that you are unable to pay your credit card balance, please contact Garanti Bank immediately and before the problem grows we can work together to the find the best solution.
  • When you use the cash advance functionality of your credit card, please keep in mind that there is a higher interest rate applied. You do not have to wait until you receive your statement to pay off your cash advance balance.
  • The purpose of the credit card is to be able to purchase what you need, especially items that would require short-term lending. If you need a longer term loan for more expensive purchases, please take advantage of the consumer credit offers of Garanti Bank.
  • Please take into account that when you make purchases in installments, the installment amounts will appear on your future bill statements
  • In addition to receiving your statement by mail, you can also follow your card balance through Garanti Bank ATMs, by calling Alo Garanti (0 800 80 1234 / +40 21 200 94 94), through Garanti Online or through e-statement.

 

For your security:

  • Do not share your card number and PIN code with anyone. Do not write your PIN code on your card or keep in it your wallet.
  • Apply for supplementary cards for your loved ones if you want them to also benefit from your cards limit and benefits.
  • As soon as you realize that your credit card has been lost or stolen, please call Alo Garanti immediately (0 800 80 1234 / +40 21 200 94 94)
  • When making payments please do not let your credit card out of your sight.
  • Do not share you PIN code with anyone, and make sure that no one can see it as you enter it into the POS or ATM. For transactions made without PIN, please check the amount charged on the slip.
  • Please sign the signature pad on the back of the card immediately.
  • Please call Alo Garanti (0 800 80 1234 / +40 21 200 94 94) to obtain your PIN code.
  • Please do not share your card number, expiration date, and the security code on the back of your card with anyone. If your card gets stuck in an ATM, please contact the nearest branch or call Alo Garanti (0 800 80 1234 / +40 21 200 94 94).
  • If you have not used your credit card for an extended period of time, please double check that it is still in its place.
