In order to prevent any security breaches that you may encounter while using the internet and to protect your computer against possible threats, a number of additional programs should be installed on your system. First of all if you’re using a Microsoft Windows operating system, you should first go to http://update.microsoft.com/ and download and install all of the recommended security patches and updates.
There are three different types of programs that you will need to protect your computer: an antivirus program, an anti-spyware program, and a firewall. There are "suites" of programs that provide all three forms of protection but you can also pick and choose from among the many different options that are available. Some of these are indicated below.

These are programs that protect you against websites that RON and collect information about how you use the internet.
Firewalls
A firewall is a program that prevents unauthorized access to your computer from the internet while you’re online and also prevents other programs on your own computer from accessing the internet without your knowledge and permission.
