PINs
What is a PIN?
The Personal Identification Number (PIN) is a code formed of four numbers protecting the access to Ciframatic, the security device. This code is set by the user when he/she receives the Ciframatic and may be subsequently changed.
IMPORTANT! In order to make safe transactions, Garanti Bank recommends NOT to write the PIN code in a visible spot or on the Ciframatic device.
How do I change my PIN?
Press the arrow button on the bottom right of Ciframatic keypad. When the word "PIN" appear, enter the standard PIN of the Ciframatic (1234). Press again the arrow button and a :New PIN" message will appear. Enter the 4-digit PIN code that you want to use. Re-enter the new 4-digit PIN code when the message "PIN CONF" appears on the screen, in order to confirm it. The appearance of "NEW PIN CONF" means that you've successfully changed your PIN code.
IMPORTANT! Your new PIN code must not consist of consecutive numbers (like "1234") or of repeated numbers (like "1111").
What happens if I entered a wrong PIN?
When Ciframatic is activated, the PIN code can be entered incorrectly three times in a row. After that, the Ciframatic will be blocked (LOCK PIN and a 7-digit number will appear on the screen).
